Highland Games & Celtic Festival - Visit
to Macaloneys Distillery
Victoria
As
part of our attendance at the Victoria Highland
games , one of the Victoria Highland Games sponsors
hosted us for a tour of the brewery and distillery
at Macaloneys Distillery in Victoria on Sunday,
May 22nd. Macalonys Distillery is founded by
a true Scot, Graeme Macaloney. They brew Twa
Dogs beer, a collection of Keekin' Glass and
3 other specialty beers and distill a fine Scotch,
their Calendonian Whisky.
Here are photos of our visit and Graeme Macaloney
describing how they produce their prize winning
Scotches..

Battle
of Ste Foy Rememberance Dinner Bessborough
Armoury, Vancouver
The
dinner was the first to be held at 15 FD RCA
since the pandemic shut down in March of 2020.
We had in attendance 33 guests and members,
including LCol. Nick Watts, CD, Commanding Officer
of 15 Fd Regiment RCA, who spoke on the current
status of training and the unit as well as on
the future opening of the mess for the regular
weds lunches. He acknowledged the retirement
of Mrs Lum, our long term caterer, and advised
that they would be obtaining a new one shortly.
Our dinner was well catered by Lori's Catering
from Harrison Hot Springs who provided a well
received Roast Beef Buffet style dinner with
excellent soup, salad, and all the trimmings
including choices of desserts. Members enjoyed
the opportunity to speak face to face at a social
function once more. A good time was had by all.
The OC, Maj Barrett, spoke on the Battle of
Ste Foy and updated all on the up and coming
activities of the Garrison including at the
Victoria and Coquitlam games. Steve, our excellent
and faithful server of grog, being our Regimental
Bartender also returned and as the Frasers noted,
so did his hair.
